Job Title: Experienced Baker

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Summary

• The Experienced Baker will be responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting a wide variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods to high quality standards.
• The role requires advanced knowledge of baking techniques, recipe development, and food safety practices, as well as the ability to manage kitchen operations, maintain consistency, and support junior staff.
• The baker will also contribute to menu innovation and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and specialty items.
• Follow recipes accurately while also developing new products and improving existing ones.
• Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all baked goods.
• Manage daily bakery operations, including scheduling, inventory, and production planning.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the baking area in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Monitor ingredient stocks, place orders, and minimize waste.
• Train, mentor, and supervise junior bakers and assistants.
• Decorate and finish cakes and pastries with creativity and precision.
• Collaborate with management to design seasonal menus, custom orders, and promotional items.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and labeling of baked products.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma / Certificate in Baking, Pastry Arts, or Culinary Arts.
• Proven experience (3 - 5 years) as a professional baker.
• Expertise in bread-making, pastry production, and cake decoration.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient functions, and food science.
• Ability to work with industrial baking equipment and ovens.
• Creativity in recipe development and product innovation.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations.

• Head Baker / Production Manager / Pastry Chef

Work Environment:

Salary
N80,000 - N100,000 monthly.
