We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to spearhead customer acquisition and market expansion for our payment system.
The role focuses on identifying and convincing potential clients—including merchants, SMEs, and corporate organizations—to adopt our payment platform.
The ideal candidate will combine strategic sales expertise with strong relationship-building skills to drive revenue growth and establish our payment system as a trusted solution in the market.
Description
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and executing growth strategies to attract new clients to our payment ecosystem.
This includes researching new business opportunities, pitching our solutions to decision-makers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring smooth onboarding of new clients.
The candidate must possess in-depth knowledge of the payments/fintech industry, strong persuasive communication skills, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and prospect new business opportunities within target sectors (e.g., retail, e-commerce, service providers, SMEs).
Develop and execute sales strategies to onboard new customers onto the company’s payment system.
Conduct client presentations and product demonstrations that highlight the value and benefits of the payment solution.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
Negotiate and close business deals in line with company objectives.
Collaborate with product, marketing, and customer support teams to ensure seamless customer onboarding and satisfaction.
Track, analyze, and report sales activities and progress toward targets.
Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory requirements within the payments and fintech space.
Represent the company at networking events, trade shows, and industry forums to generate leads.
Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual business development targets.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related field (MBA is an added advantage).
3 - 5 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or account management (preferably in fintech, payments, banking, or technology sectors).
Strong understanding of digital payment systems, merchant acquiring, and financial technology solutions.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to build trust and persuade clients at all organizational levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office Suite.
Willingness to travel for client meetings, presentations, and industry events.
