The Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas Bonny, Rivers State is situated at the South-South Zone of the country, and was established in 2014 by the Federal Government of Nigeria. It was established with the mission of being recognized globally as the leading institution in the middle and high manpower training and development for the oil and gas industry. The Polytechnic runs National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND).

Job Title: Director of Procurement

Job Description
He will be in-charge of purchases and upplies in the Polytechnic, creating and implementing procurement wolicies and maintaining vendor relationships.
Overseeing logistics, Manning and purchasing to ensure the consistency, cost-effectiveness, ficiency and adequacy of the procurement process.
Responsible for overseeing and facilitating the purchasing strategy, supervising teams of ubordinates staff in purchasing and ensuring and ensuring all employees and processes meet the standards and designations for work quality.
Maintaining in-depth knowledge of the market to ensure best value and ractices are maintained.
Developing a procurement plan and ensuring hat it is clearly communicated,
Forecasting ongoing demand for goods and services.
Negotiating contracts and service agreements with suppliers.
Forecasting price trends and prediction.
Monitor, review and analyze bids and quotes with suppliers, works and including the megotiation of service agreements.
Oversee sources for purchasing Supplies Maintain budget and streamine costs.
Qualification and Experience
Applicant must possess a good Bachelor's Degree / HND (minimum of second class lower/lower Credit) in Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing, Purchasing and Supply/Procurement and Supply Chain, Quantity Surveying, Banking and Finance, Law, Insurance, Economics or any other relevant discipline with at least 18 years post academic qualification work experience or a Master's Degree with at least 15 years post qualification work experience, and must have a Bureau of Public Procurement conversion/Annuit Certification.
Must be a person of high integrity who demonstrates transparency in public and private lives and is expected to command the respect and loyalty of staff in the Polytechnicii.
He/She must also be receptive to new deas and willing to translate the ideas into action in line with the visions and missions of the Polytechniciv.
Must be a registered member of Institute of Purchase Practitioners and any other relevant professional bodies for a minimum of five (5) years.

The requirement shall be in accordance with Federal Ministry of Education's approved guidelines for the position.
