With our expansion, we seek a skilled and detail-oriented Internal Auditor to ensure the integrity of our financial operations and compliance with legal regulations.
The Head of Procurement will provide strategic leadership and hands-on management of all procurement, supply chain, and vendor management activities across Mai Shayi Coffee Roasters Limited.
The role is central to ensuring that every branded product, raw material, and operational item aligns with the company’s premium quality standards.
The successful candidate must bring a minimum of 8 years’ progressive experience in procurement within high-end restaurants or the hospitality industry, with proven expertise in cost optimization, supplier performance management, and inventory control.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives, hospitality industry benchmarks, and sustainability goals.
Develop policies, procedures, and standards for transparent, efficient, and cost-effective procurement operations.
Lead procurement planning cycles, aligning forecasts with restaurant operations, seasonal demands, and promotional activities.
Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers that meet the company’s quality, ethical, and financial standards.
Build and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with local and international suppliers.
Negotiate favorable contracts, pricing, and service level agreements to maximize value for the company.
Continuously assess supplier performance against KPIs such as quality, reliability, timeliness, and cost efficiency.
Establish reorder levels, stock control systems, and supply chain monitoring tools to prevent shortages or wastage.
Oversee the procurement of premium coffee beans, branded consumables (e.g., packaging, takeaway cups/bags), ingredients, equipment, and other operational essentials.
Collaborate closely with operations, finance, and store managers to forecast requirements and ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
Implement best practices for storage, stock rotation, and shelf-life management, particularly for perishable items.
Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring cost savings without compromising quality.
Monitor market trends, exchange rate fluctuations, and inflationary pressures to anticipate risks and adjust strategies.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal controls, corporate governance, and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
Provide accurate, timely reports and analysis to senior management, highlighting opportunities for optimization and risk mitigation.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Conduct training and knowledge-sharing sessions on procurement best practices, compliance, and hospitality supply chain trends.
Promote teamwork and collaboration across departments to achieve shared organizational goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field. Master’s degree is an advantage.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive procurement experience in high-end restaurants, luxury hospitality, or food & beverage organizations, with at least 4 years in a managerial role.
Professional certifications such as CIPS, ISM, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of hospitality procurement systems, vendor networks, and international sourcing for premium goods.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex contracts and deliver measurable cost savings.
Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
