We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Finance Officer
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Role Responsibilities
Filing of statutory returns to regulatory authorities
Support in the preparation of management and financial reports for the company
Support the development of plans for growth to increase company profit while also reducing expenditure
Support the identification of investment opportunities
Performing risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments
Overseeing the general activities of the finance department.
Keeping accurate records for all daily transactions
Preparing balance sheets
Processing invoices
Update internal systems with financial data
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
Reconcile bank statements
Participate in financial audits
Support with budget preparation
Review and implement financial policies
Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies
Support in the review and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken.
Requirements
Educational Qualification and Work Experience:
Minimum of B.Sc. Degree in Accounting or Finance
A relevant Master’s degree and relevant professional qualifications will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 3-5 years post-NYSC experience in financial services
Experience in the insurance sector will be an added advantage
Must have professional certification in ICAN, ACCA or in the process of achieving certification
Skills and Competencies:
Proven excellent track record of achievement in this role in a dynamic corporate environment.
Ability to think strategically whilst maintaining a pragmatic perspective.
Ability to provide business acumen, energy and vision to the organization
In-depth understanding of the impact of changes/trends in the financial services industry
Deep understanding of the local and global financial services industry
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office suite
Strong interpersonal skills
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organization and management skills.
Ability to multitask, manage time and prioritize across concurrent tasks.
Strong attention to detail with high-value orientation.
