Elizade University, which lies in a pristine location in the luscious hills of llara-Mokin in Ondo State, dowed with red brick walls, state of-the-art facilities for physical and mental development, was granted an operational license by the Federal Government of Nigeria in February 2012. The University took off in January 2013 with 64 students enrolled in 13 programmes in two faculties; the Faculty of Humanities, Social and Management Sciences (7 programmes), and the Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences (6 programmes). The University has experienced rapid growth with total students' enrolment in 2025 of over 2,500 at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The University is an ICT-driven institution with well equipped and functional learning facilities, and it represents the crowning effort of Elizade Ojo Educational Foundation and the Board of Trustees to contribute to the growth and development of tertiary education, with the aim of making transformative impact in the Nigerian University System within a short period. As a matter of deliberate policy, all the students enjoy hostel facilities on campus. In order to carry out its main functions of teaching, research and community service, the University has been providing, to a large extent, basic services like electricity and water supply, security, health facilities and other municipal services to its staff and students. All these go to improve the intellectual environment of the campus. The University has a total academic staff strength of 260 and about 180 non-teaching staff.
In accordance with the provisions of the University Law, the Governing Council of the University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position below, which will be vacant on the 1st January, 2026:
Job Title: Vice Chancellor

Job Summary
The Vice-Chancellor is the Principal Academic and Chief Executive Officer of the University and statutorily Chairman of the University Senate and member of the Governing Council.
He or she shall exercise general supervision over the University and shall have general responsibility to Council for maintaining and promoting the efficiency and good order of the University, It shall also be the duty of the Vice-Chancellor to see that the provisions of the law and statute, ordinances and regulations of the University are observed, and he or she may exercise such powers as may be necessary or expedient for that purpose.
Requirements
The candidate for the position of Vice-Chancellor is required to possess a good university education and should be a proven successful manager of human and material resources with clear qualities of academic leadership.
It is pertinent to note that Elizade University, professionally well managed institution, requires a Vice-Chancellor who is not just a professor, but can also operate as a professional manager of human and material resources.
Thus, in addition to having academic credibility, he or she should be a strategic thinker, have a reputation for integrity, be good communicator, and be able to manage crises effectively.
Specifically, the candidate shall have the following attributes:
Be 50 years old and above, but not older than 65 years by january, 2026;
Be a highly distinguished scholar of the rank of Professor of not less than ten (10) years' experience on that rank, with a Ph.D Degree and ability to provide academic and administrative leadership for the University community:
Must be proficient in ICT;
Must have evidence of fund or research grant attracted:
Be able to command the respect of the national and international academic communities through his track records;
Possess a clear vision for the development of the University and realization of its mission;
Demonstrate interpersonal and team building skills and possess the ability to strengthen the bridges between staff, students, other members of the University community and the University's stake holders:
Exhibit entrepreneurial drive and ability to attract much needed funds and mobilize other resources for the development of the University:
Be able to drive linkages, interact with the business world and be innovative:
Be able to key into and drive the University's Vision and Mission;
Be able to actualize the University Teaching and Learning Philosophy;
Enjoy excellent physical and mental health; and
Have demonstrable ability to establish and maintain partnerships with local and International governmental and non-governmental agencies.
Terms and Conditions of Service
The Vice-Chancellor shall hold office for a term of five (5) years and on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment, with remuneration and other conditions of service as determined by the Governing Council and the Board of Trustees of the University as appropriate.

Each Referee must be contacted by the applicant to forward directly to the Registrar, a confidential report on the candidate's character, academic and managerial competences in a properly sealed envelope, marked at the top left-hand corner, "Post of Vice-Chancellor: Referee's Report"
Each application must be accompanied by twenty (20) copies of the statement of the candidates vision (not more than 1,000 words) for driving the University in the next five years as a 21st century institution.
