We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Human Resources Officer

Location: Awka, Anambra
Employment Type: Full-time

Main Functions of the Role

  • The HR Officer is responsible for implementing and managing day-to-day human resource operations to ensure the effective and efficient management of the organization’s workforce.
  • This role encompasses recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, and compliance.
  • The HR Officer plays a key role in fostering a positive work environment, ensuring adherence to labor laws, and supporting organizational goals through effective HR practices.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Coordinate the recruitment process, including job postings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and onboarding new hires.
  • Prepare and manage employment contracts, offer letters, and other documentation.
  • Conduct orientation programs to familiarize new employees with the organization’s policies and culture.

Employee Relations:

  • Act as a point of contact for employee queries, grievances, and conflict resolution.
  • Foster positive relationships between employees and management to promote a harmonious workplace.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a supportive and inclusive work environment.

Performance Management:

  • Support the implementation of performance appraisal systems and processes.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide guidance on areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with management to address performance issues and implement corrective actions.

Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs and assist in organizing training programs to enhance employee skills and productivity.
  • Support the development and delivery of leadership and professional development initiatives.
  • Maintain training records and monitor the effectiveness of training programs.

Policy and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in compliance with data protection regulations.

HR Administration:

  • Manage employee attendance, leave records, and payroll inputs.
  • Prepare HR reports and analytics to support decision-making processes.
  • Coordinate employee benefits programs and resolve related queries.

Organizational Support:

  • Support the HR Manager in strategic HR projects and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of an engaging organizational culture that supports employee well-being and retention.
  • Assist in change management processes and organizational restructuring efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • HR certifications such as CIPM, SHRM, or CIPD are an advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 – 4 years of experience in a generalist HR role.
  • Experience in a multi-business environment or fast-paced organization is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, labor laws, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
