Job Title: Head of Procurement

Job Description
The Head of Procurement is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective, timely, and compliant acquisition of industrial components and services required for power projects and operations.
The role requires strong knowledge of the Lagos retail market, import/export regulations, procurement SOPs, and logistics handling, including ports and customs processes.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Operations:
Develop, implement, and manage procurement policies, systems, and procedures in line with company objectives.
Identify reliable vendors, suppliers, and contractors within the Lagos retail and wholesale industrial market.
Negotiate supplier contracts to achieve the best value in terms of price, quality, and delivery.
Vendor & Market Management:
Source and evaluate vendors for industrial components, electrical materials, and equipment.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while ensuring compliance with ethical standards.
Monitor and analyze Lagos retail market trends for industrial components and recommend purchasing decisions accordingly.
Import/Export & Logistics:
Handle export formalities, customs clearance, and HSN code documentation.
Manage port handling operations, ensuring smooth clearance of goods and coordination with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs agents.
Oversee transportation, warehousing, and last-mile delivery of procured items.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure procurement practices comply with company SOPs, statutory laws, and international trade regulations.
Mitigate risks in supplier contracts, logistics, and customs processes.
Maintain proper documentation for audits, regulatory inspections, and internal control.
Team Leadership & Reporting:
Lead, train, and mentor procurement and logistics staff.
Collaborate with engineering, finance, and operations teams to align procurement with project requirements.
Prepare periodic procurement reports, spend analysis, and supplier performance evaluations.
Key Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. A professional certification (CIPS, ISM, etc.) is an added advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 8–12 years in procurement and logistics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the power, engineering, or manufacturing sector.
Strong knowledge of Lagos retail/industrial market.
Experience with export formalities, HSN codes, and procurement SOPs.
Proven expertise in port handling, shipping, and logistics management.
Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
Strong leadership and communication abilities.
Salary
N250,000 - N500,000 / month.
