Job Title: SME Portfolio Manager

Location: Lagos

The position

• As an SME Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of SME clients.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand portfolio performance, identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and deliver data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Your role will involve performance monitoring, relationship management, and executing initiatives that enhance the value of the SME portfolio.

Responsibilities 

• Manage the performance and growth of a portfolio of SME clients, ensuring retention, satisfaction, and profitability.
• Analyze SME portfolio data to uncover trends, identify risks, and recommend actionable insights to drive business outcomes.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for SME clients and proactively address issues affecting performance.
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, and Operations teams to align portfolio strategy with broader business goals.
• Build and maintain dashboards using tools like Power BI to provide visibility into portfolio metrics and performance.
• Support the development of credit strategies and lending solutions tailored to SME client needs.
• Lead or support projects aimed at improving portfolio health, client segmentation, and revenue optimization.

Requirements
Required:

• A Minimum of 5 years of experience in SME banking, portfolio management, credit analysis in a financial services context.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into business strategy

Preferred:

• Proficiency in Power BI, MySQL, or similar tools for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience working cross-functionally with sales, risk, product, and operations teams.
• Solid understanding of SME financing and risk management.
