Job Title: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Hybrid: Remote / Onsite / Field (as required by business needs)
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership in line with company objectives.
• Lead the design and architecture of AI/ML-powered digital health platforms, ensuring scalability, interoperability, data security, and compliance.
• Contribute to project and service teams in the development, implementation, and maintenance of standard architectural components.
• Continuously evaluate business processes and technology portfolios to identify opportunities for optimization, rationalization, and cost savings.
• Minimize time-to-market for SaMD (Software as a Medical Device) and CDS (Clinical Decision Support) applications by implementing efficient, future-proof architectures aligned with AI safety and security guidelines.
• Mentor and coach technical leads, principal engineers, and data scientists in architecture and AI best practices.
• Define and manage APIs, communication interfaces, and data pipelines for patient-facing mobile apps, IoT devices, and remote monitoring systems.
• Oversee compliance with SOPs, audits, industry standards, and AI ethics frameworks.
• Prototype and test AI-driven solutions internally and with partners to validate design assumptions and product concepts.
• Collaborate with Business Analysis, Solution Engineers, Data Scientists, and Security teams to drive requirements management and technology selection.
• Build strong partnerships with vendors, regulators, and research institutions to accelerate AI-driven healthcare innovation.

Essential Qualifications

• MBA or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Medical Technology, Business IT, or related field (Master’s/PhD preferred).
• Minimum 5 years in a senior management/leadership role in technology, with significant experience in digital health.
• Proven track record in the development of health tech applications and AI/ML solutions.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure deployment (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualized services.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and delivery frameworks.
• Ability to work independently while fostering teamwork across global, multicultural teams.

Knowledge & Skills Required

• Proven track record of architecting end-to-end digital health applications, ideally incorporating AI/ML.
• Specialized technical sales and solution design knowledge, with the ability to translate customer needs into scalable solutions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Significant experience with Microservices architecture, SOA, design patterns, and integration frameworks.
• Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM), regulations, and privacy/security implications in regulated industries.
• Experience producing architecture documentation (UML, BPMN) and implementing industry architectural frameworks.
• Expertise in high-availability, clustered environments and cloud-native deployment (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience in AI/ML for healthcare, including predictive analytics, NLP, clinical decision support, medical imaging, and population health management.
• Knowledge of clinical research, clinical trials, SaMD, and digital therapeutics technology.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytics, and risk management skills.
• Ability to interpret complex technical concepts into business-oriented language.
