The Project Manager will lead the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of the Ibom International Hospital construction and equipping project.
Success in this role will be measured by delivering the project on time, within ±5% of the approved budget, with zero fatalities, and in full compliance with design and regulatory standards, while building strong stakeholder confidence (≥90% satisfaction rating).
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Execution
Develop and implement the overall project execution plan covering scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and communication.
Establish project milestones and ensure at least 98% of milestones are achieved on or before planned dates.
Oversee construction, procurement, and equipment installation to guarantee 100% compliance with design specifications, codes, and standards.
Leadership and Team Coordination
Lead and align multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, HSE, project controls, and contractors, to drive performance.
Foster collaboration across functions, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and project progress is sustained.
Conduct regular stakeholder review meetings and maintain stakeholder satisfaction levels of ≥95% throughout the project lifecycle.
Cost and Schedule Management
Control project budgets, cash flows, and forecasts, ensuring cost deviations remain within ±5% of the approved budget.
Monitor schedule adherence and corrective action plans to maintain a Schedule Performance Index (SPI) ≥ 0.95.
Review and approve contractors’ claims, invoices, and variations while maintaining a Cost Performance Index (CPI) ≥ 0.95.
Quality, Health and Safety Oversight
Enforce strict adherence to regulatory requirements, design codes, and quality standards, targeting zero quality non-conformances.
Collaborate with the HSE Manager to ensure zero fatalities and an lost time injury frequency rate (LTIFR) below industry benchmark.
Conduct audits and inspections to ensure 100% compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Stakeholder and Communication Management
Serve as the primary liaison with company leadership, contractors, and consultants, providing transparent and timely updates.
Ensure strong stakeholder engagement by building trust and confidence, reflected in a ≥90% satisfaction rating.
Maintain productive relationships with local authorities and community stakeholders to avoid project disruptions.
Risk and Change Management
Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks to prevent schedule or budget slippages.
Manage change control processes to ensure any modifications to scope, schedule, or budget are properly approved and documented, without compromising overall project objectives.
Ensure that the project is completed and commissioned by the agreed deadline.
Minimum Recruitment Standards
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
Professional certification preferred (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
15+ years of project management experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles on large-scale construction projects (healthcare/hospital or high-rise preferred).
Strong experience managing multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
