About the Role
We are seeking a highly strategic and design-savvy Technical Executive Assistant to providesupport to our Executive Director.
This is not a traditional administrative role—this EA will be a strategic partner, helping to shape initiatives, craft compelling documents, and ensure flawless execution of projects that advance HBA’s vision of transforming Africa’s healthcare and business ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Support & Implementation:
Partner with the Executive Director to translate high-level strategy into actionable work plans, timelines, and deliverables.
Track progress on strategic initiatives, identify risks or bottlenecks, and drive follow-up actions to completion.
Prepare briefing notes, business cases, and presentations for high-stakes meetings with stakeholders, partners, and investors.
Document Development & Design:
Draft, edit, and design professional-grade documents including proposals, MOUs, reports, and pitch decks.
Create visually compelling presentations and marketing collateral using modern tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe Suite, or Figma).
Maintain brand consistency across all executive communications and documents.
Executive Communication:
Serve as a gatekeeper for the Executive Director’s correspondence—crafting polished, persuasive emails, letters, and talking points.
Liaise professionally with C-suite executives, government officials, and partners across healthcare, finance, and media sectors.
Support speechwriting, event scripts, and media-facing materials to ensure clarity, tone, and alignment with organisational messaging.
Coordination:
Manage calendars, schedule complex meetings, and coordinate travel with precision.
Ensure meetings are well-prepared, with pre-reads, agendas, and follow-ups delivered on time.
Support internal team alignment, helping to foster a culture of accountability and high performance.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Strategy, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
3+ years’ experience supporting senior executives or C-level leaders in strategy-driven organisations.
Proven expertise in business writing, strategic planning, and document design.
Strong command of tools like MS Office Suite, Google Workspace, Canva/Adobe/Figma, and collaboration platforms (Slack, Trello, Asana).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an executive presence.
Highly organised, resourceful, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
