Darkpore Media Africa is a research-driven media company, and the parent of the FoodNerve Society,a hub focused on agriculture, food systems, dietary challenges, finance, and land acquisition. Together, we merge research and media to drive data-backed solutions across Africa.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Research Assistant - Data Collection

Location: Maya, Ikorodu - Lagos
Employment Type: Part-time
Contract Type: On-site - Residential.
Duration: 4 weeks (contract extended upon performance)
Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (One hour break daily) Mondays to Fridays

Job Summary

• This role supports the research team by collecting, organizing, and entering accurate data gathered from online sources into standardized templates.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct research using available online resources to locate and verify relevant data
• Input collected data accurately into (Google Sheets/Google Docs/Excel)
• Maintain clear and well-organized digital files and documents
• Track and log work hours using a time management tool
• Perform regular quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and formatting consistency
• Communicate task progress, issues, or data gaps to the team lead promptly
• Collaborate with other team members to meet set deadlines

Requirements
Key Skills Required:

• Proficiency with Google Sheets and Google Docs
• Familiarity with time-tracking tools like (Clockify, Toggl, etc.)
• Familiarity with project management tools like
• Strong online research and data-gathering ability
• Attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry
• Good organizational and documentation skills
• Reliability, punctuality, and focus during work hours
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently

Eligibility

• This role is part of a youth-focused development project and is therefore limited to candidates aged 25 or younger.
• We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about learning, curious by nature, and eager to contribute meaningfully to our research projects.
