Job Title: Business Development Manager

Job Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the growth and profitability of the Bank through effective loan generation, deposit mobilization, and strategic business initiatives.
The role requires strong business acumen, client relationship management, and financial analysis skills to identify opportunities, generate revenue, and maintain a healthy portfolio.
The Manager will also ensure compliance with regulatory standards and support sustainable business expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Loan Generation & Review:
Prospect, source, and onboard clients for micro, SME, and consumer loan products.
Conduct loan appraisals, credit analysis, and risk assessments to ensure quality disbursements.
Review loan applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with bank credit policies.
Monitor loan performance and ensure timely repayment collection to minimize default risk.
Maintain a balanced and profitable loan portfolio through continuous monitoring and recovery efforts.
Deposit Mobilization:
Develop and implement strategies to grow the bank’s deposit base.
Source for savings and fixed deposits products from individuals, groups, and businesses.
Maintain strong client relationships to build loyalty and ensure consistent funding inflows.
Cross-sell banking products to maximize customer retention.
Strategic Business Ideation & Management:
Identify market opportunities, emerging trends, and customer needs within the MFB and financial sector.
Develop innovative business solutions, products, and strategies to increase market share.
Contribute to the Bank’s business planning, budgeting, and revenue forecasting.
Provide market intelligence and competitor analysis to guide management decisions.
Support brand visibility, marketing campaigns, and community engagement activities.
Client Relationship & Business Growth:
Build and maintain strong business relationships with clients, organizations, and community groups.
Provide excellent customer service and resolve client complaints promptly.
Network with stakeholders to strengthen the bank’s business positioning.
Conduct financial literacy and product sensitization programs for target groups.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Professional microfinance banking certification (e.g., CIBN Microfinance Certification) is an added advantage.
5-7 years proven experience in business development, loan marketing, or deposit mobilization within the MFB or financial services sector.
Strong knowledge of microfinance operations, credit management, and deposit mobilization strategies.
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding loan and deposit targets.
Excellent negotiation, marketing, and customer relationship management skills.
Strong analytical, financial review, and business planning abilities.
High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and core banking applications.
