Job Description

• A purpose-built campus situated in the heart of Lagos, hereby seek passionate, experienced and hardworking School Librarian to join the institution.

Responsibilities
As a librarian, you are expected to: 

• Selecting, acquiring, and maintaining a balanced collection of print, digital, and online resources that support the school's curriculum and diverse learning needs.
• Organizing and indexing all library materials to ensure they are easily accessible to students and teachers.

Budgeting:

• Managing the library's budget, allocating funds for new resources, and controlling availability of books.

Maintenance:

• Ensuring the library's resources, equipment, and environment are clean, tidy, and in good working order.

Information Literacy Instruction:

• Teaching students how to find, evaluate, and use information effectively, including digital and technological tools.

Curriculum Collaboration:

• Working with teachers to integrate library resources and information literacy into classroom lessons and projects.

Research Assistance:

• Guiding students in their research endeavors, helping them identify and access relevant materials for assignments.

Literacy Programs:

• Developing and running programs to promote reading, such as story times, reading groups, and author events.

Promoting Reading:

• Creating library displays and advising students on appropriate literature to encourage a lifelong love of reading.

Community Building:

• Fostering positive relationships with students, teachers, and the wider school community to make the library a central resource.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience working as a school librarian.
• Close proximity to the Island.
