Job Title: Academy Coach Educator

Location: Lagos 
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

• The Academy Coach Educator will be responsible for delivering structured education programs for academy coaches using defined syllabuses and modules.
• The role emphasizes teaching, mentoring, and guiding coaches to ensure they understand and apply the Academy’s philosophy, methodology, and best practices.
• This position focuses on knowledge delivery, curriculum design, and professional development for coaches rather than direct player coaching.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and well-structured training sessions, workshops, and lectures for academy coaches.
• Teach and assess coaches using pre-designed syllabuses, modules, and learning materials.
• Ensure that coaching staff understand and implement the Academy’s methodology consistently.
• Support coaches in applying theory to practice through guided discussions and reflective learning.
• Develop and update educational resources, training materials, and assessments in line with academy standards.
• Monitor and evaluate coach development progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the coaching staff.
• Collaborate with the Technical/Academy Director to refine and enhance the Academy’s coach education programs.
• Incorporate value based training (ethics, leadership, teamwork, respect) to shape coachesas role models for young players.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends in football coaching, sport science, and athlete development, and integrate relevant innovations into training programs.
• Introduce and experiment with digital tools, performance analysis software, and e-learning platforms to enhance coach education delivery.
• Encourage innovationprojects among coaches (e.g., coach-led research, new training drills, community outreach programs.)

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Education, Sports Science, Coaching, Physical Education, or a related field.
• Teaching or lecturing experience (in sports, education, or related subjects).
• Formal Coach Education Certification (e.g., CAF/UEFA Coach Educator License, FA Tutor License, or equivalent) is desirable but not mandatory.
• Experience in curriculum development, training delivery, or instructional design.
• Strong knowledge of football development principles and coaching methodologies (practical playing/coaching background is an advantage but not essential).
• Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in using educational technology (slides, video analysis, online learning platforms) is an added advantage.
