Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced lawyer with over 5 years of legal practice to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate law, litigation, or general legal advisory services, with a proven ability to handle complex legal matters and provide sound legal counsel.
The successful candidate will have excellent research and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases or projects simultaneously. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary package.
Responsibilities
Provide legal advice and counsel to the organization or clients on various legal matters.
Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, contracts, agreements, and other essential paperwork.
Represent the organization or clients in legal proceedings, including court appearances, hearings, and arbitrations.
Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
Advise on risk management and legal implications of business decisions, operations, and projects.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Manage a portfolio of cases or legal matters, ensuring deadlines and priorities are met.
Assist in resolving disputes and conflicts through negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
Collaborate with other departments or legal professionals as necessary to address legal issues.
Provide training and guidance to junior legal staff or interns, if applicable.
Requirements
A Law Degree (LLB) from a recognized university.
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing lawyer in [specific field, e.g., corporate law, commercial law, litigation, etc.].
Qualification to practice law in Nigeria, including being a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
Proven experience in drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and legal documentation.
Strong litigation or negotiation experience is an advantage.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master’s Degree in Law (LLM) or other relevant qualifications is a plus.
Experience in [specific industry, e.g, real estate] is desirable.
