Career News: Sokoto State Government (SOSG) Begins Recruitment of 3,000 Personnel into the State Civil Service

The Sokoto State Government (SOSG) has commenced the recruitment of 3,000 manpower into the State Civil Service. The initiative follows the approval of His Excellency, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, PhD, FCNA, FNCS, Governor of Sokoto State, as part of his administration’s commitment to tackling unemployment, empowering youths, and strengthening public service delivery.

According to the announcement by the Committee Secretary on the 3,000 recruitment, Barr. Gandi Umar Muhammad, mni, the recruitment portal is now live and open to qualified indigenes of Sokoto State. Interested applicants are required to complete their registration online through the official portal. The application period runs from 22nd September to 6th October, 2025, after which the portal will be closed.

Barr. Gani Umar Muhammad emphasised that the exercise will be transparent and merit-based. He further noted that shortlisted candidates will be notified via their registered email addresses or through the portal. Applicants are reminded that the entire process is free of charge, and any request for payment should be disregarded.

This recruitment exercise reflects the state government’s continued efforts to reduce unemployment and address youth restiveness while enhancing efficiency across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

• Complete all required fields carefully.
• Applicants must take a live photo during the application process.
• Upload required documents (certificates, indigene, birth, NIN, etc.).
