Main Function
The Head of Business will spearhead growth, revenue generation, and market expansion for the company.
This role demands a proven track record in financial services, sales, and business development, with the ability to deliver large-scale sales targets.
Knowledge of Shariah-compliant financial products is a strong advantage.
The successful candidate will lead client acquisition, strategic partnerships, and product innovation, ensuring all activities comply with relevant financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research & Analysis:
Identify market trends, customer needs, and emerging opportunities in financial services and Shariah-compliant finance.
Business Strategy & Planning:
Develop and execute strategies to achieve revenue growth and expand market share.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, investors, corporates, and financial institutions.
Develop a sustainable pipeline of high-value clients.
Revenue Generation & Sales Execution:
Drive sales to meet and exceed revenue targets.
Negotiate and close deals across diverse financing products.
Product & Service Development:
Collaborate with internal teams to design and launch innovative financial products, including Shariah-compliant offerings.
Adapt products to meet evolving client needs.
Deal Structuring & Negotiation:
Lead the structuring and negotiation of complex financial transactions while mitigating risk and ensuring compliance.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure all business activities align with regulatory frameworks and Shariah principles.
Implement robust risk management practices.
Strategic Partnerships:
Identify and build alliances with industry stakeholders, government agencies, and associations.
Market Positioning & Branding:
Collaborate with marketing teams to strengthen brand presence in the alternative finance space.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
Monitor sales KPIs, pipeline performance, and market impact.
Provide regular reports and recommendations to the CEO.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
Master’s degree or professional certifications (CFA, ACCA, ICAN) are an advantage.
Minimum of 5+ years in business development, sales, investment banking, or financial services.
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding high sales/revenue targets.
Experience with alternative finance and Shariah-compliant products is a strong plus.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Strong financial acumen and understanding of alternative finance.
Proven sales and negotiation skills with high-value deal experience.
Expertise in market analysis and strategy development.
Strong client relationship management skills.
Knowledge of Shariah-compliant financing (advantage).
Ability to structure and execute complex financial transactions.
Strong leadership, networking, and team collaboration skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
