Job Summary
The Business Development Manager will be the driving force behind our strategic growth. You will be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, building and nurturing strategic partnerships, and driving revenue across our diverse portfolio of training programs and software solutions.
This is a hands-on role for a self-starter with a proven track record in sales and relationship management, preferably within the technology or education sector.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Market Development & Lead Generation:
Identify and research potential new markets and client segments, including corporate organizations, educational institutions (primary, secondary, and tertiary), government agencies, and SMEs.
Proactively generate a robust pipeline of qualified leads through networking, cold outreach, attending industry events, and leveraging existing databases.
Develop and execute strategic plans to penetrate new markets, aligning with the company's growth objectives.
Sales & Revenue Generation:
Drive the entire sales cycle from initial contact and needs analysis to proposal submission, negotiation, and closing deals.
Conduct compelling presentations and product demonstrations of IDA's training programs and software solutions (e.g., StitchPRO Tailoring Application, Golf Club Management System) to prospective clients.
Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets for both training enrollments and software licensing.
Partnership & Relationship Management:
Establish and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders, including school proprietors, HR managers, business owners, and industry associations.
Act as the primary point of contact for new and existing strategic partners, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
Represent Ibadan Digital Academy professionally at conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance our brand visibility and market presence.
Proposal and Marketing Material Collaboration:
Develop and write customized, high-quality proposals, bids, and presentations that clearly articulate IDA's value proposition.
Collaborate with the management and marketing teams to create effective sales collateral, including brochures, case studies, and presentations tailored to specific client needs.
Provide market feedback to the product and training teams to inform the development of new offerings.
Reporting and Performance Tracking:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales and business development activities in a CRM system.
Prepare and present regular reports on sales pipeline, conversion rates, and performance against KPIs to the management team.
Analyze sales data to identify trends, forecast future sales, and refine business development strategies.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in a business development, sales, or account management role.
Demonstrable track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets is essential.
Experience in the EdTech, IT training, or software-as-a-service (SaaS) industry is highly desirable.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence C-level executives and key decision-makers.
Strong negotiation and closing skills.
A self-motivated, target-driven, and proactive individual who can work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in CRM software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Must possess a deep understanding of the local business landscape in Ibadan and surrounding regions.
