GOALPrime Organization Nigeria (GPON) is a policy-driven humanitarian, non-governmental organization that implements her program through a revitalized partnership. It is a non-profit organization with a mandate of making the lives of vulnerable people better, those affected by disaster or crisis. GPON is presently operating in the Northeastern regional part of Nigeria where we have reached over 100,000 lives with relief materials, child protection services. GBV mitigation services, livelihood skill-building, health services, and Education support services.

GPON provides life-skill education and psychosocial support to conflict-affected, WaSH community or camp services, Education in emergency services, Gender-based Violence mitigation services, Child protection services, Protection monitoring services, Nutrition and public health services.
For the next three months, GPON shall be implementing this consortium project with funding support from the Education Cannot Wait grant (ECW) in Talata Mafara LGA, Zamfara State.
With the possibilities of an extension, GPON seeks candidates of the highest integrity and professionalism who share our humanitarian principles for the following position.
Key Responsibilities
The Education Assistant will support education sector programme implementation in the respective state under the guidance of the Education Officer for the First Emergency Response education project.
This includes supporting in the development of the Detailed Implementation Plan, participating in stakeholders’ meetings, and contributing to narrative reporting. The job holder will also be working closely with stakeholders at the local community, school, local government area, and State level.
Under the guidance of the education officer and working closely with the project team members, including implementing partner the Education assistant will ensure that the education activities designed are carried out in a coordinated manner and in line with donor requirements, GPON standards, project agreement and commitments.
Support coordination and facilitation of teacher and Community Volunteer Teacher (CVT) trainings.
Assist with enrolment, profiling, and attendance tracking of learners.
Monitor safe learning spaces and ensure effective use of distributed learning and WASH materials.
Mobilize School-Based Management Committees (SBMCs), parents, and local leaders to support project activities.
Promote safeguarding, inclusion, and child protection practices in schools and communities.
Collect field data, prepare weekly activity updates, and contribute to reports.
Assist with planning and logistics for trainings, community meetings, and distributions.
Minimum Qualification
ND in Education or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience in education or community-based projects.
Strong community engagement and mobilization skills.
Good communication and basic reporting skills.
Fluency in Hausa/local languages is an advantage
Working experience in local communities, children with disabilities (CWD), and vulnerable people
Familiarity with the community and understanding of local protection challenges.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Hausa, other spoken languages in the community, is an added advantage.
