Job Title: Child Protection Information Management National Consultant
In Northeast Nigeria, across the states of Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe (BAY) child protection and child rights violations continued to be reported. UNICEF pays a central in implementation and coordination of child protection interventions within the humanitarian response in Nigeria, particularly in the Northeast here are children disproportionately affected armed conflict.
Timely, accurate and well-structured information management is critical for evidence-based decision making, programme planning, advocacy and donor reporting.
The Child Protection Area of Responsibility (CP AoR), co-led by UNICEF, requires robust information management systems to ensure effective coordination across partners, accurate analysis of child protection needs, monitoring of response coverage and identification of gaps.
In this context, maintenance of up-to-date datasets, dashboards, maps and analytical products are critical and essential.
To strengthen the quality of information flow and ensure that data is systematically collected, analyzed and disseminated, UNICEF seeks the services of a consultant to strengthen information management systems and products.
Purpose of Activity / Assignment
The purpose of this consultancy is to support the UNICEF Child Protection Section in strengthening Information Management (IM) systems and products.
The Consultant will focus on the development of specific IM deliverables including datasets, dashboards, maps, and analytical briefs that enhance based programming, coordination and advocacy.
Scope of Work
Mapping and adaptation of IM tools: review, adapt and update existing information management tools for child protection area of responsibility (CP AoR), ending alignment with sector needs. Produce key outputs such as datasets partner presence maps, dashboards and infographics.
Training and capacity building: Provide technical support in the development of tools for administrative routine data collection, analysis and reporting. Design and deliver at least five training and coaching sessions for sector partners on IM tools and protocols including data protection and confidentiality standards. Provide user friendly training materials to support sustained capacity.
Production of IM products: Produce updated datasets, maps and infographics to effective information programming, coordination and advocacy.
Programme analysis: conduct analysis of UNICEF;s child protection response including coverage and contingency planning. Develop analytical briefings along with visualized datasets and infographics.
Gaps and needs analysis: undertake a comprehensive analysis of gaps and needs in child protection, disaggregated by age, sex and vulnerability and produced a detailed analysis report with updated IM products.
Final report: submit a final consultancy report summarizing activities, methodologies, challenges, lessons learned and recommendations for strengthening the child protection information management.

Minimum Requirements
Advanced Degree in Information Management, Data Science, Statistics, Social Sciences or related fields is required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in information Management in humanitarian or development setting
Proven track record in developing and managing 5Ws, dashboards, mapping, CPIMS+ system.
Strong knowledge of child protection coordination mechanisms and sectoral information needs.
Demonstrated experience in data analysis, reporting and visualization.
Proven ability to deliver training and capacity building of partners and stakeholders.
Candidates with relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree will be considered
