Job Title: Head, Strategy
Locations: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Summary
Head Strategy has the primary responsibility for leading and overseeing the development and execution of strategic initiatives within the organization.
The role holder will actively identify and develop key areas for innovative transformation and growth and lead cross-functional teams to implement strategic initiatives and projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.
This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO/MD), ensuring alignment with the overarching vision and strategic direction of the organization.
Primary Location: Head Office, Port Harcourt. Employees may also work temporarily from other regional offices as needed.
Key Accountabilities
Develop and implement a forward-thinking corporate strategy that secures our position as the most innovative and trusted food service company in the nation and out of Africa.
Lead the formulation and execution of strategic initiatives that drive business expansion and innovation, and project manage the execution of same.
Develop and execute strategic initiatives for business expansion and innovation.
Identify inorganic growth opportunities (in local and/or select international markets), emerging market trends, competitive dynamics, and partnership opportunities. Motivate and seek approval for such strategy growth plans and opportunities.
Lead execution of such approved growth strategies and plans and pursue opportunities to successful and logical conclusions towards tangible results.
Conduct thorough market analysis and research to provide insights on industry trends and developments that could impact on the organization's strategic decisions.
Develop funding strategy and pipeline to actualize potential growth opportunities.
Review existing strategies as needed based on changing conditions in the business environment.
Build analytical models and lead the assessment of market feasibility, financial viability, and strategic fits to comprehensively value business opportunities and ensure well-founded strategies are presented to the relevant leadership.
Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to develop and implement approved growth strategies and miscellaneous high-impact projects/initiatives.
Ensure the strategic plan is communicated and understood across the organization
Develop and implement performance metrics to measure the success of strategic initiatives and provide regular reports to senior leadership.
Lead and develop a collaborative, agile, and high-achieving strategy teams
Use data, industry insights, and stakeholder feedback to drive results and growth.
Collaborate with executive leadership, operations, and marketing to align objectives and ensure seamless execution of strategic priorities.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes Required
Master’s degree in business administration OR equivalent professional certification is required; Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of second-class division is required.
Proven track record in leading successful strategy teams. A minimum of fifteen years’ experience in Investment Banking and Strategy Consulting or a related sector is a plus.
Strategic thinker with a creative spark—the ability to balance analytics with imagination.
International exposure/experience is required.
Experience in closing business acquisition deals locally or internationally.
Experience in the food service or retail value chain will be an added advantage.
Excellent communication skills (in writing and oral) and interpersonal skills with the executive presence and ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data to inform decision-making.
Excellent presentation skills are required.
