Job Title: Head of Marketing
Location: Lagos
Reports to: General Manager / Managing Director
Main Function
The Head of Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to promote the hotel’s brand, increase occupancy, drive revenue growth, and ensure customer loyalty.
This role oversees all aspects of marketing, including digital campaigns, advertising, public relations, events, partnerships, and brand management.
The ideal candidate must be innovative, results-driven, and experienced in hospitality marketing, with a strong focus on customer engagement and revenue optimization.
Role Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing and Planning:
Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans aligned with the hotel’s business objectives.
Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive positioning.
Define target markets and create tailored campaigns to attract leisure, business, and group travelers.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics (occupancy rates, RevPAR, ROI) to adjust strategies accordingly.
Digital Marketing and Brand Management:
Oversee the hotel’s digital presence, including website, SEO, SEM, social media platforms, and email marketing.
Develop engaging online campaigns to boost direct bookings and reduce reliance on third-party platforms.
Ensure consistent brand messaging across all communication channels, online and offline.
Manage content creation for marketing collateral, advertisements, and promotional materials.
Sales and Revenue Growth Support:
Collaborate with the Sales and Revenue Management teams to maximize occupancy and average daily rate (ADR).
Design and implement promotional packages, seasonal offers, and loyalty programs.
Drive partnerships with OTAs, travel agencies, event planners, and corporate clients.
Public Relations and Events:
Develop strong relationships with media, influencers, and key stakeholders in the hospitality and tourism industry.
Manage press releases, hotel announcements, and crisis communications.
Plan and execute events, sponsorships, and brand activations to enhance hotel visibility and reputation.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team to achieve departmental goals.
Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and accountability.
Coordinate with cross-functional departments (Front Office, Food & Beverage, Sales, etc.) to align marketing initiatives.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed reports on marketing campaigns, ROI, occupancy impact, and guest engagement.
Present periodic updates to hotel management on marketing performance and market trends.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
Professional certifications in Digital Marketing, Branding, or Hospitality Marketing (e.g., CIM, Google Digital Marketing, HubSpot) are an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in a managerial role within the hospitality industry.
Proven experience in digital marketing, brand management, and campaign execution for hotels, resorts, or related service-oriented businesses.

Strong knowledge of hospitality marketing, customer segmentation, and revenue optimization.
Ability to analyze market data, track KPIs, and convert insights into actionable strategies.

Excellent communication and presentation skills to represent the hotel brand effectively.

Proven leadership skills to manage and inspire a team of marketing professionals.

Proficiency in digital marketing tools, CRM systems, and analytics platforms.
Creative mindset to design impactful campaigns and enhance customer experiences.

Ability to work collaboratively with different departments to achieve hotel goals.
Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions, seasonal demands, and urgent promotional needs.
