Context
Under the overall supervision of the Programme Manager (Protection/MHPSS), the incumbent will contribute to the implementation of the Protection and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support activities in Plateau, Kaduna, and Taraba states, as part of the emergency response.
More particularly, he/she will be responsible for the following duties:
Responsibilities
Support implementation of psychosocial support (PSS) activities through coordination of the PSS mobile teams on the ground, including contributing to the development of workplans, coordinating team deployment, and tracking of activities to monitor progress toward project targets.
Provide technical support and monitoring to the PSS teams through weekly supervisions, on-the-job training, and field monitoring of the activities in line with the relevant guidelines and project indicators.
Provide direct MHPSS technical support, either directly or as in-service support for the teams, in close coordination with MHPSS Programme Manager and program technical staff.
Contribute to the development of a capacity-building plan for the PSS mobile teams in coordination with the Programme Manager and assist with its implementation.
Support psychosocial-protection mainstreaming initiatives and assist the MHPSS Programme Manager in coordinating the MHPSS-protection activities coordination and projects’ budget monitoring.
Liaise and coordinate with relevant stakeholders such as government actors, UN agencies, NGOs and civil society in relation to the project activities.
Consolidate reports from the PSS teams and provide inputs for weekly and biweekly reports, as well as for any other relevant documentation.
Maintain accurate documentation and filing systems of the project activities.
Contribute to the preparation of new project proposals by providing inputs based on needs identified during current project implementation, in coordination with the project officer.
Promote and facilitate the integration of cross-cutting issues such as protection, gender, child protection, counter trafficking and other vulnerable groups into project activities.
Undertake duty travel to very challenging areas when necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Educational Qualification:
High School Diploma with seven years of related experience or,
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counselling, social sciences, or related fields from accredited academic institution, with five years of professional experience.
Experience:
Participation in IOM corporate training in MHPSS an asset.
Experience supporting national and international NGOs in implementing cross-border activities.
Experience providing technical support to implementing partners or field teams.
Strong computer skills, particularly MS Office applications; advanced Excel skills are an advantage
Familiarity with databases and basic knowledge of statistical software (e.g., SPSS) is desirable.
Skills:
