Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive 3—5 year strategic roadmap for the agency channel, aligned with the company's overall business objectives and growth targets.
Market Penetration:
Design and implement innovative strategies for corporate market penetration, geographic expansion, and targeting new customer segments.
Performance Analytics:
Utilize data-driven insights from Management Information (MI) systems to identify trends, forecast performance, and make informed strategic decisions to optimize channel productivity and profitability.
Product Alignment:
Collaborate with Product Development and Marketing teams to ensure agency product offerings are competitive, meet market needs, and are supported with effective sales tools and campaigns.
Manpower Planning:
Architect a robust and sustainable recruitment strategy to build a large, productive, and loyal agent force, focusing on both quantity and quality of hires.
Future-ready Initiatives:
Research and propose new technologies, training methodologies, and sales practices to future-proof the agency channel and maintain a competitive advantage.
Operational Management Team:
Directly manage and mentor a team of Zonal Heads of Agency, Agency Development Executives and Team Leaders, setting clear performance expectations (KPIs) and fostering a culture of high performance and accountability„
Field Support & Ensure the effective implementation of field coaching programs.
Oversee and validate that the Team are actively supporting agents in the field to enhance productivity and sales closure rates.
Performance Management:
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Active
Annual Premium Equivalent (APE), Case Count, and
Productivity Ratios on a weekly and monthly basis.
Take corrective action to address gaps and ensure targets are met
Recruitment Drive:
Execute the manpower expansion strategy, overseeing the recruitment process to achieve a significant exceed monthly growth targets (eg, 10% monthly growth in active agents).
Training & Development:
Partner with the Agency Training Department to ensure continuous training programs for new agents and existing agents (Agency Building) are effective and yield measurable improvements in performance.
Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely submission of all sales reports.
Qualifications (Educational & Professional)
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field minimum of second class lower.
MBA/M.Sc. or relevant professional certification (e.g„ QIN) is a strong advantage.
Required Experience/Knowledge:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the life insurance agency distribution, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role directly managing an agency sales force.
Proven and verifiable track record of successfully growing an agency network (manpower and productivity) and achieving premium income targets.

Industry Insight: Deep understanding of the Nigerian insurance market landscape, regulations, and competitive dynamics.
Analytical & Numerical Acumen: Ability to translate strategy into actionable operational plans.

Proficiency in using CRM systems and advanced MS Office
Suite: Excel for data analysis.

Project Management: Experienced in planning and executing strategic initiatives.
Coaching & Development: Strong at guiding others, grooming talent and building leadership capacity.
