Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of Teal Harmony.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in managing the company's finances across our interior architecture projects, retail shop, and small-scale manufacturing facility.
This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to ensure financial stability, compliance, and growth in a creative and fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will be hands-on, capable of handling day-to-day financial tasks while contributing to long-term financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models for projects, retail operations, and manufacturing activities. Analyze financial performance, identify variances, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
Accounting and Reporting: Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP or relevant standards.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor and optimize cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for ongoing projects, inventory purchases, and operational needs. Manage banking relationships and investment strategies as appropriate.
Cost Control and Efficiency: Track costs associated with interior architecture projects, retail sales, and furniture production. Implement cost-saving measures, negotiate with suppliers, and evaluate pricing strategies to enhance profitability.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to all financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards. Conduct internal audits, manage insurance policies, and mitigate financial risks.
Project Financial Oversight: Collaborate with project managers on budgeting for interior architecture contracts, tracking project expenses, and ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
Team Leadership: Supervise a small finance team (if applicable), providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing department.
Strategic Support: Assist in business development by evaluating financial implications of new projects, expansions, or partnerships. Contribute to overall company strategy with financial expertise.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking and finance, or a related field; MBA or ICAN certification is highly preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a project-based, retail, or manufacturing environment.
Proven track record in financial management for small to medium-sized enterprises, with experience in creative industries (e.g., architecture, design, or manufacturing) being a plus.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Strong proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho, or similar) and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with ERP systems is advantageous.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with non-finance teams such as designers, project managers, and retail staff.
Knowledge of financial regulations, tax compliance, and risk management.
Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player.
Commitment to ethical financial practices and confidentiality.
