Key Responsibilities
As a Risk & Compliance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the Bank’s integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing operational risks. Your responsibilities will include:

• Risk & Compliance Checklist: Develop structured checklists to evaluate daily operations against risk and compliance requirements, identify gaps, and propose corrective actions.
• Policy & Program Development: Design, implement, and oversee compliance programs, policies, and procedures in line with regulatory and internal standards.
• Risk Assessment: Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and evaluate existing controls.
• Monitoring & Analysis: Stay abreast of evolving laws, regulations, and industry trends to proactively manage risks.
• Incident Response: Investigate cases of non-compliance, fraud, or misconduct and recommend corrective measures.
• Training & Capacity Building: Deliver engaging training sessions to educate staff on compliance obligations, ethical standards, and internal policies.
• Advisory Support: Provide expert guidance to business units and employees on compliance-related matters.
• Reporting: Prepare and present compliance reports to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, external auditors, and regulators. Conduct branch compliance visits and review feedback/complaints.
• Culture Building: Promote a culture of ethics, accountability, and compliance across the organization.
• Ad-hoc Duties: Execute other tasks as may be assigned by the Chief Risk Officer/Head of Risk.

Requirements

• Education: B.Sc. Degree / HND qualification in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience in risk or compliance roles.
• Certifications: Professional certifications such as MCP, CILRM, CRMI, AERMP, or equivalent (an added advantage).
• Proven track record of sound judgment, integrity, and ethical conduct.
• Ability to conduct at least 2 branch visits per week and work independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with excellent reporting skills.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, industry standards, and compliance practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training delivery skills.
• Attention to detail, disciplined time management, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
