Job Title: Internal Auditor
Location: Lagos

Description
As an Internal Auditor, your primary responsibility will be to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards while safeguarding company assets and minimizing risks.
You will design and implement audit plans, review processes, and provide oversight to enhance operational efficiency, reduce errors and fraud, and identify areas for cost savings.
This role requires a proactive and analytical professional who can collaborate with management, provide actionable recommendations, and ensure continuous improvement in internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Planning & Execution:
Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive internal audit plans.
Execute audits across all departments, including shopfloor, stores, and warehouses.
Conduct special audits such as compliance checks, spot checks, and fraud investigations.
Coordinate and harmonize audit reports for presentation to management.
Risk & Compliance Management:
Ensure strict adherence to management policies, rules, regulations, and SOPs.
Safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Investigate frauds, forgeries, errors, and irregularities while ensuring timely corrective actions.
Stay updated on industry regulations and recommend effective control measures.
Financial & Transaction Review:
Perform daily call-over reviews of finance and accounting transactions.
Verify classification, narration, authorization, and accuracy of postings.
Identify and report errors, omissions, unauthorized entries, or fraudulent postings.
Ensure accounting principles are upheld and all lapses corrected within set timelines.
Operational & Process Optimization:
Inspect and monitor inventory, shipments, imports, and clearing agents’ activities.
Recommend improvements for efficiency, cost savings, and process optimization.
Evaluate control deficiencies and monitor remediation actions and timelines.
Contribute to digitization initiatives, promoting automation and agility.
Reporting & Advisory:
Provide timely, accurate, and detailed audit reports to the MD/CEO and management team.
Generate documentation such as walkthroughs, audit programs, working papers, and root cause analyses.
Advise management on financial, tax, and banking operations as needed.
Attend and actively contribute to meetings with key stakeholders.
Qualification and Key Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (mandatory).
Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, CIA) or in-progress membership highly desirable.
3–5 years of relevant work experience in internal audit, control, or accounting, preferably in luxury retail.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and operational risk evaluation.
Proficiency in auditing, compliance review, financial analysis, and reporting.
High ethical standards with proven integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and detail-orientation skills.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Proactive and results-driven mindset with sound commercial judgment.
Computer literacy and proficiency with audit and finance-related software tools.
Ability to adapt quickly, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
