Job Description
Our client is seeking to hire a Head of Corporate Banking. As Head of Corporate Banking, you will lead the strategic direction, growth, and performance of the Corporate Banking department.
You will be responsible for building and managing high-value relationships with mid-sized and large corporates, overseeing the origination and execution of bespoke lending, trade finance, and structured credit solutions.
This is a senior leadership role requiring strong business acumen, deep market insight, and a proven ability to drive revenue growth while ensuring credit quality and regulatory compliance.
You will work closely with executive management to shape product offerings and identify new opportunities that align with client needs and the Group’s overall growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead business origination efforts and build a robust pipeline of mid-to-large corporate clients across key target sectors.
Develop and execute sales and relationship strategies to grow market share and client wallet.
Structure, negotiate, and present credit facilities tailored to client needs.
Review and approve credit proposals, ensuring alignment with the Bank’s credit policies, risk limits, and compliance requirements.
Present and defend Corporate Banking credit applications to the Credit Committee.
Supervise and mentor relationship managers and account officers within the Corporate Banking unit.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., risk, legal, operations, treasury) to ensure timely and seamless deal execution.
Champion cross-selling of the Group’s full suite of products and services to drive group-wide value creation.
Ensure strict adherence to KYC, AML, and other regulatory requirements.
Maintain strong client relationships and represent the company in public and private sector engagements.
Required Qualifications
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline in a recognised university.
A postgraduate qualification or relevant professional certification would be an added advantage.
A minimum of 7 years’ continuous banking experience in sales and credit to the corporate banking market segment, with at least4years in a supervisory role.
A good understanding of Risk, Credit policies and procedures.
Hands on experience in Credit Analysis & Administration, Sales, Relationship Management, Customer Service, commercial and product development functions of a commercial bank at managerial level.
Good understanding of economic trends and implications on the banking/finance sector.
Experience in the Public Sector will be an added advantage.
