Job Title: General Manager, Oilfield & Supply Services
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
The General Manager will oversee the Oilfield and Supply Services Business Unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality equipment, products and services to clients in the oil and gas industry.
This role involves managing supply chain operations, OEM representations, installation and maintenance of equipment, commissioning and decommissioning, and leading a team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities
The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing various operations within the Oil Field and Supply Services Business Unit.
Develop and execute strategies to grow the strategic business unit, increase revenue, and expand market share.
Manage supply chain operations, including procurement, shipping coordination, expediting and logistics.
Foster and maintain relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to ensure timely delivery of high-quality technical equipment and products.
Oversee the installation and maintenance of equipment, ensuring that work is completed safely, on time, and to client satisfaction.
Manage commissioning and decommissioning activities, ensuring that work is completed safely and efficiently.
Lead and develop a team of professionals, including supply chain, operations, and technical staff.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring that their needs are met and exceeded.
Ensure that all operations are conducted safely and in compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Start with a positive tone and build a relationship with the supplier's representative.
Present company’s objectives and targets and explain the benefits of a long-term partnership.
Provide data on company’s purchase history and future projections to demonstrate the value of a long-term agreement.
Secure a long-term supplier’s agreement with key equipment suppliers at a competitive price.
Build strong relationships with clients, OEMs, and Equipment suppliers on long-term partnerships and repeat businesses.
Adopt effective negotiation to gain competitive advantage by securing favourable terms and conditions with clients.
Secure improved profitability for the company through effective negotiation for better pricing with OEMs and explore ways of reduced costs to ensure profitability.
Educational Qualifications and Skills
A good University Degree in Engineering or the Sciences plus Business Education such as MBA or MSc Economics or Accounting professional qualifications.
Minimum of 15 years of proven experience in oilfield services, supply chain management, or a related industry.
Strong technical knowledge of oil field equipment and operations.
Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, OEMs, and internal stakeholders.
Strong business acumen, with the ability to develop and execute strategies to drive business growth.
In-depth knowledge of the oil and gas industry, including trends, regulations, and best practices.
Understanding of technical aspects of oil and gas field operations and equipment.
Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with oil and gas field operations and supply chain management.
