Job Title: Project Coordinator, I4HIV 

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Description

• Collaborate with government ministries and partners (FMoH and SMoHs) to ensure project alignment with national health priorities. Establishes and strengthens government-led coordination structures and committees for AHD implementation.
• Collaborates with the FMoH to incorporate AHD-related activities into Nigeria’s UHC plans and COPs. Facilitates the alignment of program activities with broader health initiatives, including TB, NCDs, and other HIV-related programs.
• Leads the adaptation and implementation of national and international guidelines, including the STOP AIDS toolkit, for the management of pediatric AHD.
• Simplifies treatment algorithms for efficient and effective care. Develops and implements a Quality of Care and Quality Improvement (QI) model tailored to AHD services.
• Leads the design and implementation of implementation science research to evaluate different AHD service delivery models.
• Coordinates situational analyses on SBIs and Histoplasmosis, including LFA validation studies and ensures evidence generated is disseminated to inform policy and practice.
• Oversees the day-to-day operations of the project, ensuring tasks are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with project objectives. Works closely with the project team (Project Associate, Project SI Associate) to track deliverables and resolve challenges.
• Supports the integration of AHD services into national health programs, including PHC, RI, IMCI, and nutrition services. Improves service point linkages and workflows between hospitals and community-based services.
• Supports the development and implementation of innovative service delivery models, including hub-andspoke models, to enhance access to AHD services for children.
• Collaborates with PATA to develop and implement community engagement and demand generation strategies to increase awareness and access to AHD services.
• Works with global partners and advocates for the prioritization of pediatric AHD within global HIV response frameworks. Supports the transition and scale-up of AHD services by ensuring effective mobilization of country and donor transition funding (e.g., PEPFAR, Global Fund).
• Prepares and submit periodic progress reports, including technical and financial reports, to stakeholders and funder
• Facilitates the documentation of lessons learned, best practices, and program successes to inform future AHD interventions.
• Ensures that evidence and findings from project activities are effectively disseminated to inform policy and guide AHD service delivery across Nigeria.
• Works with relevant stakeholders to identify and secure funding opportunities to support the long-term sustainability of AHD programs.
• Manages project budgets effectively and ensures that resources are used efficiently and transparently

Qualifications and Experience

• Advanced Degree in Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of project management experience, including 3 years in a leadership/supervisory role, preferably in HIV/AIDS or pediatric care.
• Strong understanding of pediatric AHD care and treatment protocols, and experience implementing national guidelines.

Skills:

• Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent project management skills, including managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
• Experience in advocacy and policy development, particularly in HIV and pediatric health.
• Proficiency in monitoring and evaluation, using data for decision-making and program improvement.
• Familiarity with Nigeria’s health systems and experience working with government entities.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Nigerian languages is an asset.

Work Environment

• The Project Coordinator will be based in Abuja, Nigeria, with regular travel to the four project states (Lagos, Kano, Rivers, and Gombe).
