Description
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Lead to spearhead the operationalization and commercialization of Logistics as a service on our platform.
As the Logistics Lead, you will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive logistics strategy that optimizes the movement of goods on our platform from Sellers to Buyers on our platform.
You will play a critical role in addressing the logistics challenges faced by distributors and retailers, driving efficiency, and unlocking new revenue streams for the company.
Responsibilities
Logistics Strategy and Planning:
Identify key logistics pain points and opportunities within the trading ecosystem, particularly focusing on the challenges faced by distributors and retailers.
Create logistics service delivery frameworks as per local market and customer needs with an aim to drive fulfilment experience as a value proposition for our customers.
Collaboration & Co-ordination – The role holder must be able to develop and maintain a highly engaged dynamic with cross-functional teams such as Operations, TradeX, Retail Growth and Product to create a robust logistics strategy that aligns with the company's objectives and market needs.
Operational Execution:
Establish and maintain relationships with logistics partners, including carriers, warehouses, and third-party providers, to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation and storage solutions.
Oversee the operationalization of our logistics offering, ensuring seamless execution and delivery of services to customers.
Implement best practices and processes to optimize the movement of goods, minimize transit times, and reduce operational costs.
Commercialization:
Develop and execute strategies to commercialize our logistics offering, driving revenue growth and market penetration.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the logistics space, including partnerships, value-added services, and premium offerings.
Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with logistics partners to ensure competitive rates and favorable terms for the company.
Performance Monitoring and Team Management:
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the performance of our logistics operations.
Implement data-driven decision-making processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the logistics team, driving alignment with company goals and objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
3-5 years prior experience in logistics management, with a proven track record of success in designing and executing logistics strategies.
Strong understanding of the logistics landscape in emerging markets, particularly in Nigeria, with experience in FMCG or retail sectors preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Proven ability to drive business growth and commercialize new offerings in the logistics space.
