Job Title:Treasurer - Team Lead
Location: Lagos Island, Lagos
Reports to: AGM, BDD / Treasury
Supervises: Treasury Officers
Job Summary
Responsible for executing the bank's treasury function. To efficiently oversee the Bank’s treasury sales, drive business growth, mobilize deposits, and manage liquidity. Manage a team that performs a wide range of job duties and responsibilities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Asset & Liability Management:
Craft, develop, and drive the liability strategy along with EXCO.
Ensure proper funding of all bank transactions, credit, and projects.
Prevent fund mismatch and ensure funding of short-term gaps via money market avenues.
Trade surplus funds to guarantee optimum return on investment.
Generate, lead, and mobilize significant deposits across the liquidity matrix.
Mobilize high-volume deposits.
Develop strategies for growth of the Bank and achievement of sales targets.
Submit proposals to Management to launch new Investment Funds and Treasury Products/Services.
Evaluate and review opportunities in the equity market and recommend appropriate opportunities.
Support branches and units in identifying deposit opportunities and cross-selling bank services.
Finance:
Monitor and manage the bank’s liquidity.
Analyze and report various scenarios and risks.
Forecast medium and long-term funding and hedging requirements.
Oversee daily cash management and debt facilities.
Drive unit profitability and monitor income generation.
Manage the bank’s Investment Funds while maintaining a low weighted average cost of funds.
Relationship / Stakeholder Management:
Support the bank’s month-end process where necessary.
Liaise with senior management across the organization.
Maintain strong relationships with the bank’s corporate customers.
Authorize other groups, units, and branches on acceptable deposit rates.
Process Management:
Manage interest rate risk and develop mitigation strategies.
Develop treasury and investment operations policy & procedures with adequate controls.
Enhance processes relating to client profitability tracking and reporting.
Reporting:
Prepare Board and monthly ALCO reports for management review.
Prepare weekly gap analysis for planning and decision-making.
Review and prepare MIS reports related to treasury and investments as required.
Qualifications, Competency & Skills Required
Minimum of First Degree in Finance, Investments, Banking, or a relevant discipline with 8–10 years’ experience managing a Treasury Function.
Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
Relevant professional certifications and/or a second degree desirable.
Strong understanding of accounting principles.
Competencies:
Knowledge of mortgage banking structure, policies, and procedures.
Sound understanding of the banking industry.

Cash and investment management.
Treasury sales, operations, and money market trading.
Financial markets and derivatives knowledge.
Skills:
Business environment and credit analysis.

Financial statement analysis and forecasting.

Strong project management and proposal writing skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Salary
N35,000,000 - N39,000,000 / Annum (based on experience)
