We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Head of Marketing
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Purpose
To develop and implement marketing strategies, campaigns, and product positioning for crop protection solutions (herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, seed treatments, etc.), ensuring alignment with company objectives.
The role drives market penetration, product adoption, and brand visibility, while supporting sales teams and engaging with farmers, offshore collaborators, and stakeholders.
Develop and execute marketing strategies for crop protection products to increase market share and profitability.
Prepare and monitor the spending of approved Marketing budget
Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer segmentation to identify growth opportunities.
Support product launches, lifecycle management, and positioning strategies.
Collaborate with R&D and regulatory teams to align marketing with product registration timelines.
Branding & Promotion:
Build strong brand identity and awareness for company products.
Design and manage promotional campaigns (advertising, events, digital marketing, demo plots, farmer field days).
Develop marketing materials (brochures, technical bulletins, social media content, presentations).
Work with Marketing agency on media objectives and creative material development and production.
Channel & Stakeholder Engagement & Team Management:
Work closely with distributors, dealers, and agro-input retailers to drive product distribution and availability.
Organize training for sales teams, distributors, and farmers on product use and stewardship.
Build strong relationships with farmer associations and government agencies.
Oversees the career and progression of staff of the unit through proper JD development, supervision, trainings and appraisal.
Sales Support & Revenue Growth:
Provide marketing intelligence and product knowledge to sales teams.
Develop sales enablement tools and promotional schemes to drive demand.
Monitor product performance and ensure achievement of sales and margin targets.
Data & Reporting:
Track marketing ROI, campaign effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
Provide regular market updates, forecasts, and competitor intelligence to management.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and product stewardship guidelines.
Research and Development Activities:
Provide strategic direction for new products, service and solution development working with team members in R & D unit.
Team Capacity Building:
Building capable successors for critical roles within the unit
Development with appropriate Capacity development programme for associates within the unit working with Human Resources Manager
Qualification and Expertise
Minimum of a second-Class upper University degree, preferably in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, Agribusiness, or Marketing (MBA is an added advantage or business, marketing, or management).
5 - 7 years of experience as a Marketing Manager either in in marketing within agrochemicals, agribusiness, or crop protection industry or in an FMCG environment
Knowledge of commodities marketing, route to market, and products promotion
Market Information Gathering, data analysis and result presentation
Strong understanding of crop production, pest management, and farmer practices.
Proven ability in strategy development, product management, and marketing campaign execution.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements in agrochemicals is an asset.
Age Requirement: 32 – 42 Years.
