Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Lawyer (Male) to join our legal team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice, preparing legal documents, representing the company or clients in legal proceedings, and ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations.
He must demonstrate strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, review, and interpret legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
Provide legal advice to management and ensure company operations comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Represent the company or clients in court, arbitration, or mediation proceedings.
Conduct legal research and prepare reports, opinions, and briefs.
Liaise with external regulatory bodies, government agencies, and legal partners.
Support management in resolving disputes and mitigating potential legal risks.
Maintain accurate legal records and ensure proper documentation of all legal matters.
Keep up to date with changes in legislation and ensure company policies are updated accordingly.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) and Call to Bar (BL) is mandatory.
Minimum of 5 – 8 years post-call experience in corporate, civil, or commercial law practice.
Proven experience handling legal drafting, litigation, and compliance matters.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
Must be male (for gender balance).
Basic Requirements:
Familiar with land acquisition procedures in Nigeria (especially in Ogun State and Lagos), capable of providing professional advice throughout the entire process from land due diligence to contract execution as well as handling related matters and preparing required documentation.
Proficient in the complete process of land registration and land certificate application in Nigeria (especially in Ogun State and Lagos), able to conduct both online and offline procedures, follow up and resolve related matters; familiarity with officials at the Ogun State Surveyor-General's Office is preferred.
Knowledgeable about procedures and legal regulations concerning the establishment and operation of industrial parks, ensuring company operations remain compliant.
Familiar with application processes for design and construction permits.
Experienced in the process of selling land to investors, including preparation of relevant contracts and supporting documentation.
Able to handle litigation procedures and court filings when company-related disputes arise.
Salary
N300,000 - N600,000 / month
