Job Title: Junior Accountant

Location: Lagos

Job Description

• The Junior Accountant supports the Finance Department in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with internal financial policies and regulatory requirements.
• The role involves assisting in day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliation, and financial analysis to support the company’s business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Record and post daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support bank reconciliation and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Assist in processing vendor invoices, staff reimbursements, and payment vouchers.
• Maintain an organized filing system for all financial documents.
• Support payroll processing and statutory deductions (PAYE, VAT, Pension, NHF).
• Participate in internal and external audits by preparing relevant documentation.
• Assist in monitoring budget performance and reporting variances.
• Ensure compliance with Hoop Telecoms’ financial policies and procedures.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Finance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2 – 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
• Good understanding of financial regulations and Nigerian tax laws.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
