Job Title: Legal Officer

Location: Ikota, Lekki - Lagos
Job Mode: Hybrid (Twice weekly)

Description

• We are looking to hire a Legal Officer who will be responsible for leading the legal, compliance, and governance functions of the organization, supporting the businesses and enabling the implementation of strategy to achieve organization’s goals.
• This individual will provide excellent service and ensure the company operates within an optimal compliance framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all legal matters across the organization, including contract negotiation, litigation, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
• Provide legal advisory support to executive leadership and all internal departments.
• Draft, review, and oversee real estate and financial agreements, ensuring full compliance with relevant laws and industry standards.
• Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment, proactively advising management on risk mitigation.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings, regulatory engagements, and contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with external counsel and regulatory agencies as required.
• Develop and implement internal legal policies and compliance programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in law (LLB), Barrister at Law (Nigerian Law School).
• 3 - 5 years proven work experience in a related position and post call to bar
• Board and secretarial experience is an added advantage
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of Nigerian corporate law, real estate law, contract law, and financial compliance.
• Proven ability to manage legal risk and support cross-functional business teams.
• A strategic thinker with strong ethical standards and business acumen.

Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 monthly (could be more for candidates with Board/secretarial experience).
