Job Description
The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications to patients.
The role ensures the smooth operation of the hospital pharmacy, maintaining accurate records, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescribed medications to inpatients and outpatients.
Prepare and label medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Maintain accurate patient medication profiles and prescription records.
Manage and monitor stock levels to ensure adequate availability of medicines and supplies.
Receive, store, and organize pharmaceutical supplies according to proper storage requirements.
Check for expired or damaged drugs and report appropriately.
Assist in compounding, packaging, and reconstitution of medicines when necessary.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy environment.
Support pharmacists in providing drug information and advice to healthcare professionals.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in inventory audits and stock reconciliations.
Handle billing, documentation, and insurance-related tasks as assigned.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all duties.
Requirements
Diploma or Certificate in Pharmacy Technician program from an accredited institution.
Current registration or license with the regulatory body.
Minimum of 1 – 3 years of relevant work experience in a hospital or community pharmacy setting.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug names, dosages, and storage requirements.
Proficiency in pharmacy software and basic computer applications.

Working Conditions:
