Job Summary
The description for an HRM / Admin role in a factory setting typically combines the core functions of Human Resources Management with the responsibilities of general administration, often with an emphasis on industrial relations and ensuring a smooth, compliant factory operation.
Develop and implement HR and administration strategies and policies aligned with the factory's operational goals.
Ensure all HR and administrative practices comply with local labor laws, regulations, and industry standards (especially safety codes).
Recruitment and Staffing:
Manage the full recruitment cycle for factory and administrative staff (sourcing, interviewing, selection, and onboarding).
Plan and manage manpower needs, especially for production shifts.
Handle employee contracts and maintain accurate personnel records.
Employee Relations and Industrial Relations:
Serve as the primary liaison between the factory workforce/labor force and management.
Manage and resolve employee grievances, disputes, and disciplinary matters.
If applicable, manage union relations, including collective bargaining preparation and contract administration.
Nurture a positive working environment and implement employee engagement programs.
Compensation, Benefits, and Payroll:
Oversee the accurate and timely processing of the factory payroll, including wages, overtime, and allowances.
Administer employee benefits programs (e.g., healthcare, pensions, social security).
Conduct job evaluations and compensation surveys to ensure competitive pay structures.
Performance Management and Training:
Oversee the performance appraisal process for all factory personnel.
Identify training needs and coordinate the development and implementation of training programs (technical, safety, and soft skills) to enhance staff productivity and skills.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
This is often a crucial area in a factory setting.
Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Manage workers' compensation claims, accident investigations, and return-to-work programs.
Lead or support the factory's safety committee and coordinate safety drills.
General Administration and Office Management:
Oversee day-to-day administrative functions for the factory office.
Manage facility maintenance, security, and the supply chain for office necessities.
Supervise administrative support staff, security personnel, and front desk operations.
Manage company assets and inventory (e.g., vehicles, equipment, office supplies).
Key Requirements (for a Manager/Head role)
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience (often 5+ years) in a similar HR/Admin role, preferably within a manufacturing or factory environment.
In-depth knowledge of local labor laws, industrial relations, and HSE regulations.
Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and payroll management.
