About the Project
Welcome2Africa International (W2A), is conducting a rapid Cocoa Nibs Value Chain Research & Market Analysis across the Niger Delta region.
The study aims to provide insights into the structure, players, and opportunities within the cocoa nibs market, profiling farmers, cooperatives, aggregators, and processors to inform future interventions, investment facilitation, and value chain development.
To support this exercise, W2A seeks Field Enumerators who will play a critical role in gathering accurate, reliable, and verifiable data from the field.
Role Summary
The Field Enumerators will be responsible for conducting structured field interviews, collecting and verifying data using mobile survey tools (Zoho Survey), capturing GPS coordinates, and submitting daily progress updates.
Successful candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail, integrity, and familiarity with mobile data collection tools.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct structured interviews with cocoa farmers, cooperatives, and aggregators using Zoho Survey.
Collect and upload accurate GPS coordinates and geo-tagged photos of farms, facilities, and post-harvest areas.
Ensure completeness, accuracy, and quality of all data collected.
Maintain daily communication and submit field progress reports to the project supervisor via WhatsApp.
Follow data ethics standards and maintain confidentiality of respondents’ information.
Participate actively in training sessions prior to field deployment.
Represent W2A professionally when engaging with local communities, cooperatives, and farmers.
Engagement Terms
Duration: Approximately 3 weeks.
Enumerators will undergo a mandatory onboarding and tool training session prior to deployment.
Performance will be monitored daily to ensure accuracy and timeliness of submissions.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a brief interview and tool competency test.
Successful candidates must be ready to commence fieldwork immediately after training.
Requirements
Candidates should possess an OND, HND, B.Sc. Degree, or Corp Members, in any discipline with 0-3 years experience.
Prior field data collection experience is an advantage.
Must own a smartphone (Android preferred) with internet and GPS functionality.
Familiarity with Zoho, KoBo, or other mobile survey tools is a plus.
Must reside within the Niger-Delta states
Excellent communication skills (written and spoken English). Local dialect is an added advantage
Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Must be available for immediate deployment.
