Job Description

• A Diction and Language Teacher is responsible for helping students develop clear, articulate speech and strong language skills.
• This role focuses on pronunciation, enunciation, vocabulary development, and effective verbal communication, tailored to the age and grade level of the students.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach diction and pronunciation: Guide students in correct articulation, stress patterns, intonation, and phonetics.
• Language instruction: Deliver lessons in grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, and usage appropriate to the grade level.
• Speech development: Conduct activities such as reading aloud, recitation, and storytelling to improve fluency and confidence.
• Assessment and feedback: Evaluate students’ progress through oral tests, presentations, and written assignments.
• Curriculum planning: Design engaging lesson plans that align with school standards and language development goals.
• Support literacy: Collaborate with English teachers to reinforce reading and writing skills.
• Classroom management: Maintain a positive and structured learning environment.
• Parent communication: Provide updates on student progress and suggest strategies for improvement at home.
• Professional development: Stay updated with best practices in language teaching and speech training.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or Speech and Language Therapy. A teaching certification is often required.
• Experience: 2–5 years teaching experience, preferably in diction, phonics, or language development at the primary or secondary level.
• Additional training: Courses in phonetics, elocution, or speech therapy are highly desirable.
• Tech-savvy: Familiarity with digital tools for language instruction (e.g., pronunciation apps, interactive whiteboards).

Required Skills:

• Excellent verbal communication: Clear, articulate speech and strong command of the English language.
• Phonetics and linguistics knowledge: Understanding of sound systems, articulation techniques, and speech therapy basics.
• Instructional skills: Ability to simplify complex concepts for young learners.
