Job Title:Compensation and Benefit Manager
Location:Dangote Cement, Ivory Coast 2
Job Summary
Lead the implementation of approved policies and programs to update Dangote Cement Cote d'Ivoire SA (DCCI) compensation strategy.
Oversee employee welfare management to ensure DCCI's compensation packages are competitive and incorporate best practices to keep employees motivated.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the Head HR/ADMIN to define, formulate and implement competitive reward/compensation strategies, policies and programs for DCCI.
Manage the execution of DCCI's compensation strategy.
Conduct benchmark surveys to identify new compensation policies, government regulations and prevailing wage rates to develop a more competitive compensation plan for DCCI employees.
Oversee monthly payroll execution and approve periodic total compensation reconciliations.
Ensure that income taxes, insurance and other group-approved benefits are paid accurately and on time.
Oversee and approve the final calculation of compensation for departing staff members.
Review and approve the submission of compensation and benefits reports to the National Director of Human Resources and Administration and other relevant authorities.
Champion the analysis of outgoing employees' responses to the DCCI and provide recommendations to management on compensation and provide recommendations to management on compensation and benefits outcomes.
Manage relationships with internal (finance) and external (tax or other) representatives to ensure seamless and timely execution of department activities.
Provide accurate details of total (or changes in) salary costs and other compensation-related information, as well as relevant recommendations to management for informed decision-making.
Supervise the activities of subordinate officers and provide guidance as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources and Administration.
Follow up with manpower providers to ensure prompt processing of contract staff salaries.
Prepare and ensure timely processing and remittance of all payroll related deductions e.g. PAYE, pension contributions, etc.
Review/validate payroll-related invoices/schedules against relevant monthly payroll instructions.
Prepare payroll impacting communication to all national employees (pay slips, salary reviews, etc).
Maintain and update the compensation database and provide ad hoc reports on compensation and benefits data, staff costs, etc.
Provide ad-hoc reports on headcount reconciliation and compensation benefits data.
Interpret performance appraisals scores and calculate the corresponding remuneration level.
Assist with implementing relevant reward structures based on performance results.
Conduct compensation surveys as required and compute corresponding remuneration.
Advise Head, HR/ADMIN on appropriate compensation and benefits level for all new positions.
Provide support in terms of queries resolution on compensation related issues.
Key Requirements
Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline.
Postgraduate degree in a discipline related to compensation & Benefit and human resources.
Professional qualification in human resources management.
Minimum of Eight (8) years of relevant professional experience.
Skills and Behaviours:
Very good knowledge of the cement industry in terms of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations, legislation, etc.
In-depth knowledge of the structure and evolution of salaries, typical benefits and compensation and other related activities.
Up-to-date knowledge of market/industry information on compensation and benefits.
Good understanding of payroll systems and ability to perform complex troubleshooting.
Strong leadership and relationship management skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong business writing skills.
Proficiency in MS Office tools, particularly MS Excel.
SAP Success Factors experience will be an additional asset.
