Position Summary
We are seeking a creative, curious, and tech-savvy individual to join our team as a Communications, Design & Technology Intern.
This internship role is ideal for a well-rounded, adaptable individual who is passionate about communications, design, and digital technology and eager to gain hands-on experience across multiple disciplines.
The intern will play a key role in supporting communication efforts, managing website content, creating visual materials, and contributing to product design and user experience.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work across teams, supporting projects that combine creative storytelling, design, and digital innovation.
Support the planning, development, and implementation of communication strategies to enhance the organisation’s visibility and engagement.
Support with content publications for various channels.
Collaborate with internal teams to align communication outputs with organisational goals.
Support tracking and reporting of content performance using Google Analytics, Zoho Social, or Meta Insights.
Design & Creative Development:
Support the development of high-quality digital and print materials such as graphics, infographics, reports, and presentations using Canva, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite.
Apply design principles to produce visually engaging and user-friendly materials.
Maintain visual consistency and brand integrity across all communications.
Website & Digital Management:
Support day-to-day management and updates of the organisation’s website, ensuring content is accurate, current, and visually aligned.
Participate in internal conversations on website structure, functionality, and user experience.
Apply UI/UX design principles to enhance the website’s usability and appeal.
Work with teams to ensure the website effectively supports campaigns, content, and project visibility.
Product & UI/UX Support:
Contribute to digital product development and user experience design.
Assist in prototyping, testing, and refining interface elements for digital tools or platforms.
Support the alignment of visual and functional aspects across digital products.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Research, Program, Strategy, HR, and Technical Services teams to ensure communication, design, and digital outputs align with broader organisational objectives.
Provide creative and technical support for cross-functional initiatives and internal projects.
Participate actively in brainstorming and planning sessions that link communications, technology, and design.
Requirements
Recent graduate of a Bachelor’s program in Communications, Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
Strong interest in communications, digital design, website management, and technology.
Basic product development experience.
Basic proficiency in WordPress, website management and an understanding of UI/UX principles.
Skilled in Canva, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite.
Excellent writing, visual communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
