Job Title: Field Enumerator

Job Description
The Field Enumerator will work under the supervision of the SCOPE Officer to conduct household targeting and SCOPE biometric registrations, as well as provide organizational support during field activities. This includes data collection, crowd management, and the selection of vulnerable beneficiaries in the project’s target communities.
He or she will be primarily responsible for collecting accurate field data during the targeting and TCDI/WFP SCOPE registration processes. The role involves direct interaction with beneficiaries and plays a critical part in ensuring the quality and integrity of biometric registration and overall data accuracy.
Roles and Key Responsibilities
Work under the supervision of the SCOPE Officer, utilizing mobile devices for field data collection throughout the period of engagement as recommended by TCDI.
Attend all enumerator training sessions, including orientation on the use of mobile devices and digital tools for beneficiary registration.
Identify, document, and promptly report any challenges encountered during data collection from beneficiaries.
Accurately record responses using approved tools provided by TCDI/WFP, upload completed data to the ODK/SCOPE database, and provide daily progress updates.
Adhere to all guidelines and protocols required for conducting successful beneficiary registration and data management.
Ensure proper handling, security, and accountability of all mobile devices and equipment assigned.
Support the SCOPE registration team in managing and maintaining an effective enumeration schedule and itinerary.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess an OND, ND, or NCE in Information and Communication Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Sociology, or any other related field.
HND or B.Sc. degree will be considered an added advantage.
At least one (1) year of experience in data collection with a recognized NGO, preferably within the Northeast region of Nigeria.
Experience working in Yusufari or Fune LGAs will be considered a strong advantage.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and effectively manage time.
Proficient in using digital data collection tools (eg., ODK etc.) and able to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies as required.
Familiarity with the use of Android tablets.
Strong listening and communication skills, with the ability to understand beneficiaries’ perspectives and ask relevant follow-up questions.
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
Demonstrated ability to collect accurate information through careful observation, interaction, and verification from various sources.
Familiarity with the target community or locality of operation is an added advantage.
Possession of a valid form of identification.
Ability to communicate with local languages (Kanuri, Fulfulde and Hausa)
