Job Title: Programme Officer
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Job Summary
The Programme Officer will be supporting the implementation of our programme. S/he will work with project teams to conduct project implementation, activity development and impact tracking, and ensure effective and timely data collection, analysis and reporting to support decision-making, program improvement, and learning.
The Programme officer is also responsible for knowledge management, ensuring effective documentation and implementation of product offerings and processes.
The ideal candidate must be competent in effective time management, excellent independent writing skills and working with limited supervision to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
Communication and Knowledge Management:
Develop and implement a social media strategy to enhance programme visibility, and advocacy impact.
Conduct ongoing social listening to monitor and analyze emerging narratives, misinformation trends, and public sentiment on immunisation, using insights to inform campaign messaging, audience targeting, and proactive engagement strategies.
Source, curate, and synthesise information for the organisation’s newsletter, policy briefs, and digital channels.
Support the drafting of communication materials, technical updates, and stakeholder reports.
Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement:
Support regular programme check-in meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, documentation, and follow-up actions.
Facilitate effective information exchange between internal teams and external partners.
Contribute to stakeholder mapping, engagement planning, and advocacy coordination efforts.
Programme and Technical Support:
Provide technical inputs into the development of vaccine investment cases, ensuring evidence-based recommendations that strengthen national and sub-national immunisation financing and policy decisions.
Contribute to the vaccine end-to-end (vaccine development to uptake) engagements, including analysis of policy documents, partner updates, and pipeline reviews.
Support the implementation of the socialisation plan by facilitating stakeholder engagement and dissemination activities that promote awareness, ownership, and uptake of the regional research agenda.
Support the preparation of briefs, situation reports, and technical summaries related to immunisation programmes and vaccine introduction.
Assist in monitoring project implementation progress and ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Communications, International Relations, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, public health communications, or international development.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in developing and publishing content for diverse audiences.
Proficiency in using social media platforms and analytics tools for campaign management and reporting.
Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools for data gathering and analysis is advantageous.
Demonstrate confidence and excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities within tight timelines, as well as proactively communicate with teammates and stakeholders.
Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
