Overview
We are a growing consulting firm in Nigeria seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Lead, Human Resources & Learning to head our HR Advisory and Learning & Development practice.
This role combines strategic HR consulting, client advisory, and business development with hands-on design and facilitation of learning programs.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned HR leader, passionate about talent development, with proven consulting experience and the ability to travel across Nigeria and Africa to deliver impactful solutions.
Key Responsibilities
HR Advisory & Strategy:
Lead HR transformation projects for clients, including organizational design, performance management, compensation strategy, and workforce planning.
Serve as a trusted advisor to CEOs and leadership teams on HR best practices and strategic people issues.
Drive HR consulting engagements that deliver measurable client outcomes.
Learning & Development (Core Focus):
Design, deliver, and facilitate leadership development, soft skills, and capacity-building programs for client organizations.
Customize training content to client needs, ensuring relevance and business impact.
Oversee the development of e-learning modules, workshops, and blended learning solutions.
Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve learning delivery.
Business Development & Revenue Growth:
Own and achieve revenue targets for HR advisory and L&D services.
Identify and secure new consulting and training mandates across Nigeria and Africa.
Develop proposals, pitch to clients, and represent the firm at HR and L&D forums.
Build and manage strong relationships with client organizations for repeat business.
Regional Travel & Client Delivery:
Travel locally within Nigeria and across Africa to deliver consulting projects and learning interventions.
Facilitate leadership retreats, corporate training sessions, and client workshops in different markets.
Build the firm’s regional presence as a trusted HR and L&D partner.
Team Leadership & Practice Development:
Lead and mentor the HR advisory and L&D team to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Set performance KPIs and monitor delivery standards.
Collaborate with consulting partners to integrate HR and L&D into wider client solutions.
Performance Metrics (KPIs)
Revenue: Contribution to HR advisory and L&D revenue targets.
Client Growth: Number of new client engagements secured regionally.
Delivery Impact: Training evaluations, participant satisfaction, and business impact of L&D programs.
Market Visibility: Speaking engagements, thought leadership, and industry presence.
Team Growth: Development and performance of L&D and HR consulting team members.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Education, or related field (MBA preferred).
Professional HR certifications (CIPM, SHRM, CIPD) and/or L&D certifications (ATD, ICF, etc.) are a plus.
10+ years’ HR/L&D experience, with at least 5 years in a senior consulting, HR advisory, or leadership development role.
Strong facilitation, presentation, and public speaking skills.
Proven track record in HR consulting and training program delivery.
Commercial acumen with ability to generate revenue through HR and L&D services.
Willingness to travel frequently across Nigeria and Africa.
