Job Title: Storekeeper (Restaurant Kitchen)

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Department: Food & Beverage (Kitchen)
Reports To: Head Chef

Job Summary

• The Storekeeper will be responsible for efficiently managing and controlling all food and beverage inventory in the restaurant kitchen.
• This includes receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining accurate records of stock levels to ensure seamless kitchen operations, proper cost control, and compliance with food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive all food, beverage, and kitchen supply deliveries in accordance with company standards and purchase orders.
• Inspect received goods for quality, quantity, and proper packaging before acceptance.
• Properly label, store, and arrange all food items and materials in designated storage areas to maintain order and hygiene.
• Issue stock items to kitchen staff based on approved requisitions and record all stock movements accurately.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock checks to monitor usage and prevent wastage or theft.
• Maintain up-to-date records of stock transactions using the company’s inventory management system or manual logs.
• Ensure that storage areas (dry store, cold room, freezer, etc.) meet hygiene and temperature standards at all times.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef and Procurement Team to forecast stock requirements and reorder levels.
• Report any discrepancies, damages, or near-expiry items to management promptly.
• Support the Finance or Cost Control team in reconciling inventory data for audit and reporting purposes.

Requirements

• Minimum of OND or equivalent qualification in Store Management, Accounting, or related field.
• 1–3 years’ experience as a Storekeeper, preferably in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of food storage standards, FIFO (First In, First Out), and inventory control.
• Good communication and record-keeping skills.
• Basic computer literacy (MS Excel or inventory software).
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to hygiene and safety practices.
