About the Role

• We are looking to hire a compliance and internal auditor with a great attitude to work and an analytical mindset.
• The right candidate must have brilliant problem-solving skills and constantly deliver quality work at all times and effective communication skills as the internal auditor would relate with all departments in the organization.
• To ensure success, the internal auditor must be a critical thinker with a keen interest in improving an organization’s internal control structure.
• Top candidates will have remarkable presentation and report writing skills, and display incredible business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Planning and performing operational audits to ensure compliance with applicable local, state and federal regulation, corporate standards and generally accepted internal audit standards.
• Identify, assess and mitigate business and financial risks through effective implementation and monitoring of controls.
• Ensure complete, accurate and timely audit information is reported to Management and the Risk Management Committee of the Board.
• Conduct ad hoc investigations into identified or reported cases of concerns.
• Oversee risk-based audits covering operational and financial processes. Develop and implement best business audit practices in line with applicable internal audit statements inclusive of project audits Assess the efficiency and productivity of internal staff and make recommendations for improvement and present findings to upper management in the form of reports and presentations

Requirements

• Degree in Internal Auditing, Financial Accounting or Financial Management (essential)
• Ability to use QuickBooks
• Five plus years of work experience in an internal audit environment with experience with international grants such as GIZ, former USAID etc. Do not apply if you do not have this type of experience.
• Accreditation with the Institute of Internal Auditors or any other relevant certification
• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs)
• Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
• Meticulous attention to detail ∙ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent documentation, communication and IT skills
