Job Title: Production Superintendent
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Mission / Purpose of the Job
This role is responsible for overseeing the operations, maintenance, and optimization of flow station production systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations in line with industry and company standards.
The role involves supervising daily field operations, coordinating production activities, ensuring the readiness of equipment, and continuous improvement in operational efficiency while maintaining zero downtime.
The Superintendent will lead teams, manage contractors, and collaborate with technical and support units to deliver on production targets and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
Production Operations Management:
Oversee daily production activities at the flow station, ensuring compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards.
Monitor daily production and quality control performance, identifying and addressing inefficiencies promptly.
Ensure production plans are executed on schedule with zero downtime.
Coordinate the delegation of production tasks to team leads and line staff, ensuring adequate staffing and resources.
Forecast production needs and proactively address potential workflow disruptions.
Maintenance & Equipment Readiness:
Supervise and monitor all maintenance activities to ensure operational readiness of process and utility equipment.
Verify the functionality and availability of all operational equipment to support uninterrupted production.
Lead troubleshooting efforts for operational and production issues.
Maintain quality service levels for both operations and maintenance activities.
Project & Technical Support:
Support technical assessments for new initiatives and projects.
Ensure new power generation facilities are fully equipped for grid and direct customer electricity transfer.
Collaborate in engineering, procurement, and commissioning tasks for new or ongoing projects.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor project and operational progress.
Provide technical input during concept and planning phases of projects
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
Review production outputs against specifications before distribution of reports.
Prepare and present performance reports, highlighting progress, risks, and recommendations.
Lead daily toolbox and HSSE meetings to align teams on operational goals and safety.
Risk Management & Compliance:
Identify risks associated with operations and projects, recommending and implementing mitigation strategies.
Coordinate and maintain healthy working relationships with support and technical teams.
Investigate delays or quality issues in contractor work and enforce compliance with specifications and standards.
Ensure all operations comply with safety rules, maintenance instructions, and regulatory procedures.
Education / Business Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Civil / Structural, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 15 years’ supervisory experience in oil and gas production operations in Nigeria.
Proven experience in swamp and offshore production operations.
Extensive project management experience in oil and gas contexts.
Valid IWCF certification and strong safety compliance record.
Competencies, Skills & Attributes:
In-depth understanding of oil and gas production processes, including swamp and offshore operations.
Knowledge of HSSE standards, policies, and compliance requirements in the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
Understanding of engineering, procurement, and commissioning workflows for production projects.
Familiarity with power generation and electricity transfer systems to grid and customers.
Strong grasp of production forecasting, workflow planning, and operational efficiency strategies.
